Georgia is one of the states whose residents TTUHSC's graduate nursing tracks can consider, with a Meets mark on every graduate table. Its board leaves post-licensure programs alone, so your rotation turns on licenses instead: yours, your preceptor's, and TTUHSC's approval of the site.

No program approval, but license conditions
Georgia's Board of Nursing explains on its education page that approving and regulating post-licensure programs, NP programs included, is simply not part of its role. So an MSN or NP program from Texas needs no Board sign-off to put a student in a Georgia clinic. Pre-licensure runs the other way: going by the Board's page, zero pre-licensure programs from outside Georgia, online ones included, currently hold clearance for clinicals there.
The conditions attach to people. A Georgian doing clinical hours for a school elsewhere must hold either a Georgia license or multistate privileges from a compact state, and the same license test covers anyone teaching or precepting in Georgia, whether in person or online. For APRN programs, the Board adds that the clinical teaching belongs with a nurse who holds Georgia APRN authorization. That steers the search toward Georgia-authorized NPs, and your course faculty can say how TTUHSC reads it for other clinicians.
The compact and a restricted practice state
Georgia's compact licensing dates to January 2018. A Georgia multistate RN license is the natural fit for TTUHSC's MSN tracks, whose rule accepts compact multistate status in place of a Texas license, as long as the license is current and unencumbered. On the DNP side, the handbook asks for a U.S. RN license and some program pages word it differently; the license guide lines them up.
AANP's classification for Georgia is restricted. There, NPs work through delegation from, or supervision by, a physician, and their Schedule II prescribing is narrower, so expect that physician relationship to shape your preceptor's day.
Georgia's PTIP, the Preceptor Tax Incentive Program, lowers state income tax for Georgia clinicians who precept without pay, but only for students from a program based in Georgia (medicine, dentistry, NP or PA). A TTUHSC student does not count toward it.
Where TTUHSC places the work: your Georgia community
TTUHSC's graduate clinical hours happen where the student lives. You lead the search; the School of Nursing has the final say on both the preceptor and the facility.

Meeting requirements is a disclosure, not an offer. TTUHSC's graduate program pages caution that, with regulations changing, eligibility for some states cannot be confirmed when an application arrives, and Georgia applicants are asked to raise the question with Admissions first. Once enrolled, a move to another state needs 60 days' notice (relocation details).
Atlanta and beyond: systems as landmarks
Metro Atlanta dwarfs everything else in Georgia. Augusta, Savannah and Columbus come next, and the Augusta and Columbus areas both reach across state lines, into South Carolina and Alabama. Wellstar Health System and Piedmont Healthcare are major names; Northside Hospital, Emory Healthcare and Grady Health System are others. They help show where NPs practice; they are not presented as hosts for TTUHSC students, since each site decides for itself and TTUHSC approves it.
North of Georgia, North Carolina is among the ten states TTUHSC's licensure page closes to graduate applicants, so a move there would change your situation entirely. Alabama, Florida and South Carolina carry no such mark.

Can Georgia residents apply to TTUHSC's online nurse practitioner programs?
Yes, Georgia carries a Meets mark for the MSN NP tracks and no unable-to-accept note. Admission belongs to TTUHSC, which wants people applying from another state to run their eligibility past Admissions first. For the most common track, start with the FNP program page.
Does my Georgia preceptor have to be an APRN?
In Georgia, the Board ties APRN clinical instruction to Georgia APRN authorization: the instructing nurse must hold it. Ask your course faculty how TTUHSC applies that before you approach a physician. TTUHSC approves every preceptor in any case, whatever their license.
Does TTUHSC need Georgia Board approval for my rotation?
No. Post-licensure education, NP programs included, sits outside the Georgia Board's approval work entirely. What Georgia checks is licensing: a Georgia or multistate compact license for you, and the same standard for anyone teaching or precepting you in the state.
Would my preceptor get Georgia's preceptor tax credit for teaching me?
