The form here. It asks for your name, email, phone, TTUHSC program, clinical start, and city and state, plus an open message box for anything those fields miss.

However you get in touch, the reply comes from a placement advisor, by email, phone call or text. Mention in your message if one of those works better for you, or if there are hours when you would rather not be called, such as clinical days or night shifts.

What to put in your message

A specific first message lets us start sooner. These details give a placement advisor enough to begin looking right away:

Your TTUHSC program and track, such as MSN FNP or BSN to DNP PMHNP
The clinical course you need covered, with its NURS number as TTUHSC prints it
The term: Fall 2026, Spring 2027 or Summer 2027
Your home town, plus the longest drive you would accept
For a course already underway, hours done so far and hours remaining
Clinicians or facilities you have tried, with their answers
Anything your course faculty or the Graduate Coordinator have told you about timing

If your situation is urgent

Say so in the first line. If you are mid-term, choose "Already started, behind on hours" in the clinical start field, and tell us whether your preceptor has left or your term begins within weeks. Time-sensitive requests get priority at the desk. For a rushed search, the most useful details are the date your term starts or your preceptor stopped, the hours you still owe, and any deadline your course faculty have set.

For clinicians and practices

Clinicians who would like to precept a TTUHSC student reach us the same way, whether you are a nurse practitioner, a physician or another licensed clinician. In the program field, select "I'm a preceptor (not a student)", then describe your specialty, your practice location and the terms that work for you. Office managers writing on a clinician's behalf are welcome too. Tell us as well whether your practice could host more than one student a term or prefers one at a time.

We reply with TTUHSC students whose course fits your practice and a clear outline of what the rotation involves. Precepting a TTUHSC student explains approval, the semester agreement and the course objectives.

Questions that belong with TTUHSC

Some questions only TTUHSC can settle, and we are glad to steer you to the correct office. Approval decisions and the preceptor agreement process sit with the School of Nursing's Graduate Coordinator and your course faculty. Registration, adds and drops go to the Graduate Enrolled Student Advisor. Out-of-state eligibility is a question for TTUHSC's nursing Admissions Team, and plans to relocate go to your program director.

When a question falls between us and TTUHSC, we answer what we can and name the TTUHSC title for the rest, so you always know who to ask next. The clinical roles guide lists which TTUHSC title handles what, and our privacy policy explains how we look after the details you send.

Questions TTUHSC students ask

When can I expect a reply?

Our placement advisors reply as fast as they can, and urgent requests, such as a term starting within weeks or a preceptor who has just left, are handled first. If your message is time-sensitive, flag it in the opening line, or use the chat for a faster back-and-forth.

Can I contact you before my TTUHSC program starts?

Yes, and it is a smart moment to do it. Your first clinical course may be several terms away, but knowing the course, the population it covers and where you will live lets us plan the search early. Pick the start timing that fits in the form and tell us your program.

What if I'm not sure which program option to choose?

Choose "Not sure yet" and describe your situation in the message box. Include your TTUHSC track as it appears on your program plan and name your next clinical course, and a placement advisor will sort out the rest with you during the first conversation.

Will you contact preceptors or TTUHSC for me?

We contact prospective preceptors and facilities as part of the search, once you agree to the plan. Your dealings with TTUHSC, including the electronic preceptor agreement, stay with you as the student, and we prepare the preceptor and facility details you need so that step goes smoothly.

Do I have to be a current TTUHSC student to write to you?

No. Admitted students planning ahead, current students at any stage, and clinicians interested in precepting are all welcome to get in touch. Tell us where you are in your TTUHSC program, or in your own practice, and a placement advisor will take it from there.
