Wyoming nurses and the TTUHSC School of Nursing
Wyoming is open to TTUHSC's graduate nursing tracks on the school's licensure page. Its Board of Nursing asks little of a post-licensure program such as an MSN or DNP: no approval, only a letter to the Board ahead of each student's Wyoming clinical and a facility contract signed in advance. The bigger hurdle is distance, in a state whose largest metro, Cheyenne, has just over 100,000 residents.

Notice, not approval: Wyoming's Chapter 6 rules
Chapter 6 of the Board's rules sets one gate for every school from elsewhere: it must be registered with Wyoming's Department of Education or covered by NC-SARA, and TTUHSC participates in NC-SARA. Past that gate, the rules treat programs differently. LPN and RN prelicensure programs need the Board's permission, backed by documents. Post-licensure education, meaning APRN, DNP, MSN and RN-to-BSN programs, needs no Board approval at all.
Two duties remain. Before a student's first clinical day in Wyoming, the school sends the Board a letter, and the Board offers a template for it. Before that same experience, the school and the facility sign a contract, and the school holds a copy for the Board. TTUHSC programs from a Wyoming address
TTUHSC's graduate clinicals run in the student's home area, and no hour counts until SON staff and faculty have approved both the person precepting and the place.

A Meets mark qualifies you to apply; admission is decided separately. TTUHSC's graduate pages explain that regulations change and that it cannot promise, at submission, to take students from certain states, so Wyoming applicants should confirm eligibility with its Admissions Team.
Full practice and two compacts
AANP counts Wyoming among its full-practice states. Wyoming put the RN compact into effect in January 2018, so a multistate Wyoming license fits TTUHSC's MSN rule, which asks for a Texas RN license or a compact multistate one; the DNP accepts an RN license from any state. Either way it must be current and unencumbered (RN license guide).
The APRN Compact is also on Wyoming's books, one of five states to pass it. That compact waits for a seventh state before it takes effect, so NP licenses remain state-issued for now.
Cheyenne, Casper, Gillette and the long drive
Cheyenne leads Wyoming's metros, Casper follows, and Gillette anchors a smaller micropolitan area. Town by town, the hospitals include Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, Campbell County Health in Gillette, Sheridan Memorial Hospital, Ivinson Memorial Hospital in Laramie (affiliated with UCHealth) and, in Casper, Banner Wyoming Medical Center. They are examples, not TTUHSC sites. Banner Health is based in Arizona, but TTUHSC's licensure page frames its limits around where the student is located, and these facilities sit in Wyoming.
South of the state line, Colorado carries TTUHSC's unable-to-accept mark; relocating there would end eligibility for the graduate tracks. Before leaving Wyoming for anywhere, notify TTUHSC 60 days or more in advance, since the next state's approval rests on your planned placement and is handled case by case (moving guide, Colorado). Distance shapes campus time too: the MSN NP tracks require 7-8 campus days over the whole program, and the OSCEs happen in Lubbock (campus days).

Questions TTUHSC students ask
Does Wyoming's Board have to approve TTUHSC before my clinical?
Post-licensure programs like TTUHSC's MSN and DNP need no Board approval in Wyoming. What Wyoming wants is a letter from the school to the Board before your clinical begins, a contract between the school and your facility signed in advance, a copy of that contract held for the Board, and the school's NC-SARA participation or state education registration.
Can I take TTUHSC's online FNP from Cheyenne or Casper?
Applying is possible: TTUHSC's disclosure puts the FNP and the other MSN NP tracks at Meets for Wyoming. Admission is still TTUHSC's decision, so check your eligibility with its Admissions Team early. Once enrolled, you would complete FNP clinical courses in Wyoming with an SON-approved preceptor and site.
Is Wyoming's APRN Compact in effect?
Not yet. Five states have passed it, Wyoming among them, but it switches on only when seven have. Until then, NP licenses are issued state by state. Meanwhile TTUHSC's MSN looks only at your RN license, where Wyoming's compact membership since January 2018 already helps.
I live near the Colorado line. Does that matter?
It can. TTUHSC's licensure page turns on the state where you are located, and Wyoming is open while Colorado carries the unable-to-accept mark. Living in Wyoming keeps you eligible to apply; moving into Colorado would change that. Tell TTUHSC 60 days or more before any move to another state.
