TTUHSC's campus page says the Abilene campus is "Located next to Hendrick Health" and credits that spot with putting clinical rotations within easy reach for students. The campus is home to the Julia Jones Matthews School of Population and Public Health and also offers School of Nursing programs, with the Traditional BSN teaching there since 2009. An Abilene Simulation Center rounds out TTUHSC's presence in the city.
That line describes where the campus sits; it is not a graduate placement promise. Undergraduate students in Abilene are placed by the faculty teaching their clinical courses. Not automatically. TTUHSC's campus page describes the Abilene campus's location beside Hendrick Health and the access it gives students, but graduate NP students still find their own preceptor. Any facility, Hendrick included, goes to SON staff and faculty for review, and the School of Nursing confirms whether a contract with it is active before you can start.
Can I do NP clinical hours at the TTUHSC community health center in Abilene?
TTUHSC's public pages do not say whether the School of Nursing's Abilene community health center precepts graduate NP students.
