The TTUHSC systems nursing students use, and what each one does
Your eRaider account opens TTUHSC's systems. You register and see final grades in the WebRaider Portal, read official notices in TTUHSC Email, take courses in D2L Brightspace, which replaced Canvas, and may sit online exams under Proctorio. The clinical side is less visible: TTUHSC publishes no name for its electronic preceptor agreement system or for any clinical tracking tool.

The systems map
TTUHSC names each system plainly, and the Student Handbook and the School of Nursing's technology pages explain what each is for. Here they are in roughly the order a new student meets them.

eRaider and multi-factor sign-in
Everything starts with the eRaider account, which TTUHSC handles through its eRaider Account Management tools. Office apps add a second step: multi-factor authentication through the Microsoft Authenticator app on your phone.
That second step is easy to forget until it fails. Set Authenticator up on the phone you carry to clinical before the term begins, and if you replace that phone, move the app before the old device is gone. When something breaks anyway, the IT Solution Center handles account problems for students on every campus. Newly admitted students should settle the account and Authenticator first, since registration in the WebRaider Portal comes right after.
The School of Nursing has also listed its own Education Technology Services team for nursing-specific tools, separate from the university-wide help desk.
WebRaider Portal and TTUHSC Email
The WebRaider Portal is where enrollment happens. The handbook routes registration, adds and drops through it and posts final grades there. None of those are solo moves: adding a course needs your Enrolled Student Advisor's approval, and dropping one means contacting course faculty and getting the advisor's approval before you drop in WebRaider. The academic calendar sets the windows, such as the fall 2026 add/drop period of September 8 to 22. One more rule to know: dropping to zero hours counts as withdrawing from the School of Nursing, so talk to the advisor before any drop that would empty your schedule.
TTUHSC Email is the school's formal channel. The handbook says students need access to it to proceed through the School of Nursing, and decisions as serious as dismissal and appeals are sent by certified mail and/or TTUHSC email. Check it every day during a term, clinical weeks included.
D2L Brightspace, Proctorio and the laptop rule
D2L Brightspace, at learn.ttuhsc.edu, is TTUHSC's learning management system, and it replaced Canvas. The School of Nursing's D2L timeline moved all MSN students and the BSN to DNP and Post-Master's DNP cohorts onto D2L from Summer 2025, and its final line reads "Aug-26: SON Completely on D2L." A Canvas link in an old guide or bookmark is out of date.
According to the handbook, the learning management system carries exams, assignments, messages, orientation content and announcements. For clinical students, each course's D2L site is the first place to look for rotation expectations and course-level details TTUHSC does not publish openly.
Exams in online or hybrid courses may use Proctorio, which records video and audio during the test, or may be taken at a TTUHSC-authorized location. Separately, all SON programs require a personal laptop for on-campus testing, exams and classroom activities, so pack it for every on-campus intensive or OSCE.
Where the clinical paperwork lives
Clinical systems are the least public part of TTUHSC's setup. The graduate FAQ confirms an electronic preceptor agreement that students complete for every preceptor each semester, yet the name of the system behind it is not published. Compliance tracking and clinical hour logs are the same: no public TTUHSC page names a platform for either.
Those tools appear to sit inside TTUHSC's student systems, so your answers come from inside too: the D2L site for each clinical course, your course faculty and the Graduate Coordinator in the Clinical Placement, Affiliation Agreements, and Preceptor Management unit. Clinical roles explains who does what. Be cautious with any outside guide that names a vendor for TTUHSC; this site names none because TTUHSC names none publicly.
School of Nursing forms, including withdrawal, grade appeal, dismissal appeal and letter of recommendation requests, are kept at nursing.ttuhsc.edu/forms/. The agreement itself is covered in the electronic preceptor agreement.
Libraries, advising and IT help
TTUHSC Libraries run three health sciences libraries: the Preston Smith Library of the Health Sciences in Lubbock, the Harrington Library in Amarillo and the Odessa Library of the Health Sciences. The School of Nursing's technology page also links Library eReserves for course readings.
Advising for the MSN APRN tracks is directed by specified Program Directors, with help from a Graduate Enrolled Student Advisor who works under the Assistant Dean for Student Advising and Support. Your plan of study is given at orientation, and registration, add/drop and withdrawal questions go to that advisor.
For technology, the IT Solution Center works Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on all campuses. Help comes through a ServiceNow ticket or a walk-up location: tickets suit online students far from campus, and walk-up help fits the days you are on site for an intensive.

Does TTUHSC nursing still use Canvas?
No. D2L Brightspace replaced Canvas. The School of Nursing's D2L timeline moved MSN students and the DNP cohorts to D2L starting Summer 2025 and marks the school completely on D2L by August 2026. Canvas links on archived TTUHSC pages no longer lead to your courses.
What is an eRaider account at TTUHSC?

Which clinical tracking system does TTUHSC use?
TTUHSC does not name one on its public pages, and the same goes for the electronic preceptor agreement system. Look to your clinical course's D2L site and your course faculty for the tools your course uses, and treat any outside source that names a TTUHSC vendor with caution.
Do I need my own laptop for TTUHSC's nursing programs?
